We are delivering another Keeping Health In Mind Course starting on Monday 7th September but this time the course will be held online via Zoom.
Keeping Health in Mind is a six session course which introduces a range of life skills, any of which might be practical tools to enhance your capacity to deal with the stressful parts of your life as well as enjoy the good parts even more.
This course is not therapy, it is more like self-help and encouragement. We are learning life skills together, all of which, are designed to help us live more positively. But there is no one size fits all approach, you can take from the course the things that might work for you.
The course works best when members make a commitment to attend all six sessions if at all possible. No one is under pressure to share personal information but a willingness to be open to a shared learning environment would be good.
The course will be led by Rev Sheila and will take place on the following Monday evenings from 7pm till 8.30pm:
Monday 7th September 2020
Monday 14th September 2020
Monday 21st September 2020
Monday 5th October 2020
Monday 12th October 2020
Monday 19th October 2020
(Please note there is no session on Monday 28th September)
Each course participant will receive a course booklet for which a donation of £3 would be appreciated. Other than that, there is no charge for the course.
There a limited number of places to ensure it is a good experience for everyone. Please contact Sheila at email@example.com to book your place.
Week 1. The opening session looks at the nature of coping and explains how we can all take some small steps that will help each of us cope just a little bit better.
Week 2. The next session, “be still”, looks at ways to help us relax and slow down and why this matters.
Week 3. Thoughts: this third session deals with anxiety management. We think about how our thoughts affect our behaviour.
Week 4. Feelings: session four gives us some techniques for managing strong emotions
Week 5. Relationships: this session teaches some skills for managing any difficult relationships in our lives, it also helps us understand why other people push our buttons.
Week 6. In the final session we each focus on setting our own individual goals and writing our own manageable plan to bring about whatever positive change we are seeking.
