Last Sunday at our APCM we elected four new members to our PCC. Thank you to John Martin Jones, John Merrigan Heather McQuillan Simon Bingham for joining us in this important role within the church. Our next PCC meeting is Tuesday May 22nd at 7.30pm in the choir vestry at church. Also David Bridge convened a meeting of a sub group looking at maintence issues around the church. Thank you to these folks: David Bridge, Clive Jones, David Wakeling, Simon Bingham and James Brown.
Our next meeting is our APCM on April 15th after a shortened Sunday Service. At our March meeting we said goodbye and thank you to four people who have served very faithfully on our PCC, this means we are looking for new people to take a part in this key leaderships structure. Also at March's PCC meeting we reviewed our decision to modernise our worship style and affirmed that we were happy with the way things were going. We also approved the accounts that will be presented at the APCM. We heard updates on finances for Project Welcome (lots of potential good news there) and an update on our regular finances to pay our bills and parish share. In spite of a committed group of generous givers we are still looking a relatively small shortfall for this budget. We are looking for new members of church who have not yet started to give regularly to begin to give. Every little REALLY does help. Since Sheila sent the finance update letter out in February several of our 'already giving members' increased their giving. Thank you. If you don't yet give regularly and would like to please speak to Linda our treasure or go to our Giving page Here are those who are standing down from PCC this year. Thank you to all of you for your faithful service.
Gail Richmond, who has helped us with our Natural Church Development goals.
Peter Lock who has been our organist and is still Assistant organist
Margaret Copperwheat, life long member of our community and came on to PCC to represent the 8 o'clockers
Margaret Mortimore, long serving member of PCC and PCC secretary for many years.
Christmas Gift to St Peter and St John Church? As 2017 draws to a close the PCC has reflected on our current financial position. Whilst we have been blessed by generous donations towards Project Welcome and aided by grants towards the building work, we are going to be stretched to pay our ongoing costs and bills. If you are in a position to donate to the work of this church please put your gift into a yellow envelope and put it on the collection plate or you can donate by BACS - all the details and gift aid form you can download is on our website. www.peterjohnchurch.org.uk. If you are able to donate any amount monthly in 2018 this would really help us to budget. Our regular running costs are over £4,000 a month and this will increase next year. God has been extraordinarily faithful in providing for us and many regulars in our congregation already give generously every month. Any donation large or small is greatly appreciated. Please note that a proportion of all our income is donated to other worthy causes both locally and internationally.
