Dates: 30th May, 6th Jun, 13th June, (week’s break) 27th June, 4th July, 11th July I’m confident you will find it a useful investment of time and I’d love to have you along. Sheila Bridge Sheila@peterjohnchurch.org.uk Or 07754 784251 Everyone welcome to this service of unity for all the churches in Rugby. We will be celebrating Pentecost together and hearing stories from Rugby Christians about the ways God is at work in their lives.
Service starts at 6.30pm and finishes with tea, coffee and biscuits On Sunday June 25th we shall be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of St Peter's and St John's as one church. Although this is an anniversary of the closure of one church building (St John's in Cambridge Street) it is also the anniversary of the coming together of two congregations to make one combined church in the church building that had solely been known as St Peter's.
The actual anniversary is Weds 28th June but on Sunday 25th we will hold a celebration service to which we are inviting many old friends who have been part of this church's journey over the years. After the service of Holy Communion at 10.30am there will be a bring and share lunch in the church hall. Please keep this date in your diary and do come along to help us celebrate and give thanks to God for his faithfulness to us in the past as well as commit ourselves afresh to his calling of us into the future he has planned. Don't miss the Young Musicians Concert this Saturday at St Peter and St John's Church.
Refreshments (soup and roll, tea or coffee) are served from 12 noon. The free concert is at 1pm. This concert will feature pianists, a Guitarist and string players from Grade 4 to Diploma Standard. Do come along and support these talented young pupils of music teachers Alan Broadbent, Gordon Croft, Samantha Nugent, Steve George and Rosemary Robinson. There is the opportunity of a retiring collection in aid of St Peter and St John's. Everyone welcome this coming Sunday morning for our Worship for All service which this week will be all about Shepherds and Sheep. The service will be about 45 minutes long and will include an item from the Children's Choir. Children are welcome to come along to choir rehearsal plus breakfast at 9.30am. Hope to see you there.
Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement, which invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost (25th May - 4th June) for more people to come to know Jesus Christ.
In support of this we will be holding prayer mornings at 9:30am during this time. For further information on dates and times please click: Prayer |
